cycling scaries

Not exactly how I envisioned kicking off this series but here we are

People commonly talk about the Sunday scaries. You know what I’m talking about. That general feeling of apprehension, dread, worry about the week ahead. Even if you enjoy your job, reportedly about 80% of working American adults experience this on Sundays.

I’m here today to coin the cycling scaries. No they’re not nearly as terrible. But yes they somehow exist.

Had a (thankfully very mild) crash today. It sucks though because I’m rattled. Sucks even more because this cycling mentality is something I’ve been working on for a LONG time. Currently frustrated and worried that this will set me back, but hey we’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

So cycling scaries? That general feeling of knowing you have a long and new/tough/tricky ride next day and there’s always that bit of unknown out of your control. You’re mostly psyched but just a tad nervous when you go bed.
